"Can I borrow your sheet music?"
Elise was two years old when she memorized every word to "Bohemian Rhapsody"; her parents knew then they had a singer on their hands. Her mother claims this talent arose because she listened to Journey every day for most of her pregnancy, but Elise thinks musicality just runs in the family! She can trace musical roots through both sides of her family tree and her (infrequent, as her parents would claim) visits to the rural Eastern Shore of Virginia, where most of her family resides, can most often find her singing along to her father's guitar at the urging of friends and family (but mostly just her mom.)

Voice and (disastrous) piano lessons, middle school band, high school choir (including four years of District Choir and one year of All State) led Elise to seek a degree in Vocal Performance at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she joined the VCU Notochords, and thus a passionate love affair with a cappella was born. In her four years with the group, Elise served as Alto section leader, associate director, and director. Her favorite title with the group, however, will always be 'Resident Lady Gaga.'
In her final semester at VCU, Elise sent Mike and Mark a video of one of those Gaga performances, and soon was able to call herself a founding member of Uncommon. While she doesn't recommend trying to balance two a cappella groups, a part-time job, and a (boring) social life while completing a full class load and a senior seminar, she wouldn't change that time for the world, and couldn't imagine life without her amazing Uncommon family!
Elise ultimately graduated with a degree in English and a minor in music and spends her free time pursuing her other great loves in life: writing and RPG video games. City life agreed with her and she currently resides in Richmond with her partner Cory, an old, goofy dog named Luke, and an adorable, cuddly, completely evil cat name Bean. Elise and Cory also share their home with one of Elise's two younger brothers, Don. The three of them all work for the same small business in Richmond. And yes. She's aware that sounds like the plot of a sitcom.
